You’ve got a 1999 Toyota Camry with 150,000 miles. It runs fine. The AC blows cold. No check engine light. Maybe a minor oil leak, nothing serious. You could drive this car for another 3 to 5 years without a problem. But you need to sell it.
So you call around. The dealership offers you $500 or $600 — but only as a trade-in, which means they’re really just trying to get you into a payment plan on something newer. The junkyard offers you scrap metal prices because that’s all they know how to do. And you’re sitting there thinking — this car isn’t junk. It still runs and drives. Why is everybody treating it like it’s worthless?
That’s exactly the problem I solve. My name is Sonny Miller, and I run GoCarBuyer.com. I specialize in buying the vehicles that fall in between — too good for the junkyard, too old for the dealership. And I pay real money for them. Call me at (714) 900-3723 and I’ll tell you what yours is worth. Or keep reading — I want to show you what I mean.
Watch: How GoCarBuyer Works
Why Your Car Is Worth More Than They’re Offering
Here’s a real example. That same 1999 Camry — 150,000 miles, running fine, cold AC, minor oil leak. If you call a big corporation or a junkyard, you’re going to hear $450, $500, maybe $600 if you’re lucky. For that same car, I’m looking at $1,200 to $1,400 depending on the specifics. That’s $700 to $800 you’re leaving on the table just because you didn’t know someone like me exists.
Now every scenario is different. I’m not promising $1,400 for every Camry that calls me. But I am telling you that if your car still runs and drives, it’s worth a lot more than scrap. The big companies don’t see value in a car like yours because it doesn’t fit their business model. I do. That’s the difference.
The Scenarios I Deal With Every Day
I’ve seen pretty much everything at this point. Here’s a list of real situations people call me about, and I handle all of them.
Your registration is expired — maybe 2, 3, even 4 years back. That sticker on your plate has cycled through the colors twice and your neighbors are noticing. The car’s collecting spider webs, the paint is fading, maybe the tires are flat. The HOA is sending you fines. The city is complaining. You need this gone, but nobody wants to buy it because it looks like a project.
Or you inherited a vehicle and you don’t know what to do with the paperwork. Maybe the person who passed left you a car with no title, or a title that’s not in your name, and the DMV process feels overwhelming. I deal with that paperwork all the time. I bring the proper forms and walk you through it.
Or you’re paying $100 to $200 a month in storage fees on a vehicle you’re not even using. Every month you don’t sell it, you’re losing money. I’ve had people call me after 6 months of storage fees realizing they’ve spent more storing the car than they’d get selling it. Don’t let that be you.
Or you’ve got 2, 3, 4 vehicles in the family — which is normal in Southern California — and you just need to get rid of the extra one. Maybe it’s the car your kid drove in high school and now it’s sitting in the driveway doing nothing. Perhaps it won’t pass smog. Maybe it’s got a dead battery and a flat tire. Maybe you don’t have the title. Whatever the scenario — I’ve seen it and I buy through it.

What I Won’t Buy — And I’ll Still Help You
If your engine is completely blown and there’s no value left in the car beyond parts — that’s a junkyard situation, not a GoCarBuyer situation. The junkyard wins that game because they’ll sell the headlights, the seats, the taillights piece by piece. That’s not what I do.
But here’s the thing — even if I’m not going to buy your car, call me anyway. I’ll point you to the right junkyard. I’ll tell you how they operate so you don’t get taken advantage of. I don’t get paid a commission or a kickback from any junkyard or dismantler. I just want to be helpful. If I can’t buy it, I’d rather you get the most money you can somewhere else.
And sometimes what you think is a blown transmission turns out to be a $20 fuse or a bad relay. I’ve seen it happen more times than I can count. On Mercedes especially — sometimes all the car needs is the right battery and it goes right back to normal. So before you scrap it, call me. I might save you from throwing away a car that just needs a $50 fix.
How I Actually Evaluate Your Car
When you call me, I’m not going to ask you 100 questions. My online competitors make you fill out forms with 10 or 20 fields before you can even submit. With me, there’s a message box on the form if you want to tell me about the car, and then I call you.
On the phone, I give you a ballpark range. Not an exact number — a range. Why? Because I haven’t seen the car yet. Maybe you didn’t know the check engine light was on. Perhaps you didn’t realize the miles were rolled back. Maybe it’s a salvage title and you didn’t know what to look for. The range protects both of us from a big misunderstanding. It gives you room to negotiate and me room to negotiate.
Then I come out and look at it in person. I open the hood, check for major leaks, take a quick drive. I don’t need an hour. When we agree on a price, I pay you right there — cash, check, Zelle, Cash App, whatever works for you. I bring the paperwork. You sign the title, we make a simple bill of sale, and you’re done. No DMV trip. No stress.
Even if you don’t have the title, I bring the proper paperwork so we can handle it on the spot. And I always recommend — whether you sell to me or anyone else — go to California DMV online and file a notice of release of liability right away. That protects you from tickets and towing if the buyer doesn’t register the car.

I Come to You — 7 Days a Week
I’ll meet you at 9 PM on a Saturday. I’ll meet you at 9 PM on a Monday. Doesn’t matter to me. I work 7 days a week anywhere in Southern California — Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, and San Diego. Nine times out of ten, I come the same day you call. If you need to schedule it out a month or even 3 months from now, I’ll call you back a day or two before and we’ll make it happen.
What I Buy
Pretty much anything with four wheels. Older cars, high-mileage cars, damaged cars, classic cars and trucks, fleet vehicles, work trucks, cargo vans, box trucks, Kodiak trucks, SUVs, Toyotas, Hondas, Fords, Chevys — all of it. The only thing I don’t buy is semi trucks. Everything else is fair game.
My specialty is the older vehicles that big companies don’t want. But I also buy newer vehicles with damage — body damage, mechanical problems, whatever. If you’ve got something you want to sell, just call me. The worst I can say is it’s not a fit, and even then I’ll help you figure out your best option.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much will you pay for my car?
It depends on the year, condition, mileage, and what’s going on with it. I give you a ballpark range on the phone, then we finalize the number in person. No surprises.
What if my car doesn’t run?
If the rest of the car has value — good transmission, clean body, no structural damage — I still buy it. If it’s totally shot and only worth parts, I’ll tell you honestly and point you to the right place.
Do I need the title?
No. I bring the proper paperwork to handle a sale without a title. It happens all the time and it’s not a problem.
What if my registration is expired?
Doesn’t matter. I buy cars with expired registration, expired tags, flat tires, dead batteries — all of it.
How do you pay?
Cash, check, Zelle, Cash App — whatever you prefer. You get paid on the spot the same day.
Do you charge anything for coming out?
No. The evaluation, the drive to you, the paperwork — it’s all free. If we don’t come to an agreement, you owe me nothing.
Ready to Find Out What Your Car Is Worth?
Call me and tell me what you’ve got. I’ll give you a ballpark range right on the phone. If it sounds right, I’ll come to you — usually the same day. No forms with 20 questions. No corporate runaround. Just a straight answer from a real person who’s been doing this for over 20 years.
I am not a corporate robot. I operate as a family at GoCarBuyer. See what other sellers say on our customer reviews page.
