Hello everybody, Sonny Miller here, your helpful car guy. If you’ve got a minivan that hauled the kids around for years and now it’s just sitting in the driveway collecting spider webs, I’ll buy it. I pay cash for minivans, any make, any model, pretty much any condition, all over Orange County and the San Fernando Valley.

I answer the phone myself, because when you call you should get the guy who actually shows up, not a runaround. Most of the time I can be there in hours, and I’m here to help whether you sell to me or not. So if you want a free quote or just some advice on your minivan, give me a call at (714) 900-3723. If not, keep reading and I’ll show you how I work.

When the Family Van Has Done Its Tour

A lot of the minivans I buy come from families who are just done with the van years. The kids grew up and moved out, you downsized to something smaller, or it’s been parked so long it’s turned into one more thing on your plate. Whatever it is, you don’t have to let it sit there. So if those days are behind it, I’ll take it off your hands and pay you for it, no cleanup, no fixing it up first, nothing on your end.

High Miles? That’s Normal for a Minivan

A minivan is a workhorse, so a lot of miles comes with the territory. These family vans cross 150,000 all the time, and plenty of them keep going past 200,000, even 250,000, without any major problems. People think those numbers make the van worthless, but they don’t. A well-kept Sienna with high miles can still have plenty of life left in it, so high miles don’t scare me off. Don’t let the odometer talk you out of selling. Call me and I’ll give you a ballpark figure right over the phone.

When the Repair Costs More Than the Van

Here’s where a lot of folks get stuck. The power sliding door quits, the transmission starts slipping, or the AC dies in the middle of summer, and the repair quote comes back higher than the van is even worth. On a high-mileage family van, that math usually doesn’t work in your favor. The sliding doors are the classic one, those motors and cables fail constantly and they’re not cheap to fix, but a broken door doesn’t make your van junk to me. So before you dump money into an old van, it’s worth being honest with yourself about whether to fix it or sell it. And if selling makes more sense, that’s where I come in.

What Your Minivan’s Value Comes Down To

What your van’s worth comes down to the make, the miles, and the shape it’s in. Here’s the rundown:

  • Toyota Sienna: these go the distance, and the all-wheel-drive ones hold their value best. The generation makes a big difference, so I broke down how the different Sienna years compare on its own page.
  • Honda Odyssey: solid vans, though the early-2000s ones had some transmission trouble and a few of the later V6s drink a little oil. Stuff like that doesn’t kill the deal with me. I still buy them.
  • Dodge Grand Caravan & Chrysler: these were built as an affordable family hauler, so they don’t carry the resale a Sienna does. But a clean one that still runs good is always worth something.
  • Kia, GMC, Ford, and the rest: whatever the badge, it’s worth what the market says, and I’ll tell you honestly what I see in it.

And if you want to figure out the real number yourself, I put together a whole blog on what your minivan is worth and how to comp it the right way.

You Deal With Me, Not Four Different People

With me, you’re not getting a corporate robot. You get me, personally. The guy who answers the phone is the same guy who shows up in person. I’m not an out-of-stater, I’m a Southern California resident just like you. And I’m not some big corporation, so you’re not getting passed through four different people before anybody answers a simple question. So whether you’ve got a minivan to sell or you just want some advice, even a good local mechanic or a smog shop, call me up. I pick up personally.

Even If I Pass, I’ll Point You the Right Way

If your van’s truly too far gone for me to buy, I’m not gonna leave you hanging. I’ll point you in the right direction so you still get the most out of it, even when I’m not the one writing the check. And here’s the thing that makes that advice honest: I don’t take any kickbacks or any kind of payment from the people I send you to. There’s nothing in it for me except steering you right.

How You Get Paid, and Who Handles the Paperwork

When we make a deal, you get paid however you want:

  • Cash
  • Check
  • Wire transfer
  • Cash App
  • Zelle

Whatever form of payment works best for you, that’s what you’ll get. And I handle all the paperwork myself, hassle-free, no headache, and no obligation to take my offer. If you want to shop around first, go right ahead. If you find a better number for a van in this category, take it. But I think you’ll find I pay the most for what’s in my lane, and I’m not gonna waste your time doing it.
