Your car has a flat tire — maybe two — and now you’re wondering if anyone will even buy it. The answer is yes. Flat tires barely move my offer because I know exactly what they cost to fix, and sometimes I’ll change the tire right there on the spot so we can get the deal done without any hassle.
I’ve been doing this for over 20 years, and flat tires are one of the easiest problems I deal with. Call me at (714) 900-3723 and tell me what’s going on. I’m Sonny Miller with GoCarBuyer.com.
Why Your Tire Is Flat — And What It Actually Costs to Fix
Tires go flat for a few different reasons, and some are cheaper to fix than you’d expect:
Nail or puncture in the middle of the tire: This is the cheapest fix. Any local tire shop can patch it with a special sealant for about $20 or less. Just Google a tire shop near you and drive there carefully — or if the tire is completely flat, throw on the spare and head over. So if this is all that’s wrong, you might not even need to sell.
Tire went flat from sitting too long: This is the most common scenario I see. The car has been parked in a driveway, garage, or storage for months — maybe years — and the tires lost pressure from age. The rubber dries out, cracks, and eventually goes flat. If your car has been sitting in storage for a while, flat tires are usually just one of several issues, but none of them kill the deal.
Bald tires with no tread left: Tires aren’t meant to last forever. If the tread is worn down to nothing, the tire needs to be replaced — not patched. But even bald tires don’t drastically change my offer because I’m looking at the whole vehicle, not just the rubber.
How to Check If Your Tires Are Bald
Here’s a quick tip. Take a penny and stick it into the tread of your tire with Lincoln’s head facing down. If you can see the top of Lincoln’s head, your tread is too low and the tire needs to be replaced. But if the penny goes in deep and his head disappears, you’ve still got decent tread left.
And I want to be clear about something — do not drive on bald tires. This is extremely dangerous. You could have a blowout at any time, especially on the freeway. It will ruin your day and it could be much worse than that. If your tires are bald and you’re thinking about selling anyway, just call me and I’ll come to you. Don’t risk driving on them.
I’ll Come to You — Even If the Car Can’t Move
If your tires are flat and the car can’t be driven, that’s not a problem. I come to wherever the vehicle is — your driveway, a parking lot, a storage unit, wherever. And if we need to move the car to get the deal done, I’ll handle that too. I’ve dealt with cars blocked by other vehicles, tucked into tight garage spots, and sitting on rims in a backyard. None of it stops me.
If need be, I’ll change a tire right where the car is sitting. I bring what I need, and I don’t charge you for it. That way nobody’s calling a tow truck or dealing with extra costs just to sell a car with a flat tire.

How Flat Tires Affect My Offer
I’m going to be straight with you — I do factor flat or bald tires into the offer, but it’s not going to change the number much. A set of used tires costs a couple hundred bucks. That’s a small fraction of what most vehicles are worth, so it barely moves the needle.
I’m definitely not going to price gouge you because a tire is flat. Some buyers use every little issue as a reason to drop their offer way below what the car is actually worth. I don’t operate that way. If your car runs, drives, and is otherwise in decent shape, flat tires are just a minor detail.
What If My Car Has Flat Tires AND Other Problems?
Usually flat tires come with other things. Maybe the car also has expired registration because it’s been sitting, or the check engine light was on before you parked it. Perhaps you’re not even sure where the title is anymore. I deal with every combination of these problems, so just tell me everything that’s going on and I’ll give you one number that accounts for the full picture.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will you buy a car with flat tires?
Yes. Flat tires are one of the easiest problems I deal with. I’ll come to wherever the car is, and if needed, I’ll change the tire on the spot so we can get it done. Flat tires barely affect my offer.
Does a flat tire lower my car’s value?
Slightly, but not much. A tire costs far less than most people think relative to the vehicle’s value. I factor it in, but I’m not going to use a flat tire as an excuse to lowball you.
Can I fix a flat tire from a nail myself?
You can take it to any local tire shop and they’ll patch it for about $20 if the nail is in the middle of the tread. But if the puncture is on the sidewall, the tire needs to be replaced — a patch won’t hold safely on a sidewall.
What if my car has been sitting so long all four tires are flat?
That’s common with cars that have been parked for a year or more. The rubber dries out and loses pressure over time. I still buy these vehicles — I just need to know the full situation. Flat tires from sitting usually come with other issues like a dead battery or old gasoline, and I handle all of it.
Is it safe to drive on bald tires to meet you?
No. Do not drive on bald tires — it’s extremely dangerous, especially on the freeway. If your tires are bald or flat, just call me and I’ll come to you. That’s what I do. There’s no reason to risk a blowout when I can be at your door in hours.
Do I need to go to the DMV to sell my car to you?
No. I bring all the proper paperwork and handle everything. I come to you anywhere in Southern California — usually within hours — and pay you on the spot. Cash, check, or Zelle.
Don’t Let a Flat Tire Keep You From Getting Paid
A flat tire feels like a bigger problem than it is. Whether it’s a nail, old rubber, or bald tread — none of it stops me from buying your car. Call me, tell me what’s going on, and I’ll come to you with everything I need to get the deal done on the spot.
